Arri Enso native look

The Arri Ensō lenses provide high-resolution images in natural tones with the same colour profile as the Signature Prime, offering a cinematic look that gives images great richness and visual depth.

These lenses capture vibrant and accurate colours, with a good balance between warm and cool tones, providing a natural and harmonious colour palette. The flares and bokeh they generate are smooth, highlighting the main subject by creating a clear separation from the background.”

Customize the Enso Look

Additionally, the Arri Ensō lenses come with the EVE (Ensō Vintage Elements) kit, a set of 6 diopters (3 positive and 3 negative) that attach to the rear of the lens to add effects such as bokeh and blurs, thereby customising the look.

The EVE significantly affect the bokeh, and this is especially noticeable in the light points in the background: the negative EVE will make them appear brighter on the outer edge, whereas with the positive EVE, these light points will shine more in the centre.

In general, the positive EVE provide a more glamorous look with shiny skin tones and soft backgrounds, whereas the negative EVE offer a rougher look and vibrant backgrounds.

They attach magnetically to the rear of the lens and allow the transmission of metadata such as changes in focal length, aperture, and focus. Thanks to this, when using the Arri Hi-5, the focus is automatically compensated.

On the other hand, the filters Signature Impression V also fit on the rear of the Arri Ensō lenses.

Construction and mechanics

The Arri Ensō are spherical lenses for large sensors (ø46mm coverage) with 14 lenses ranging from 10.5mm to 250mm (up to 500mm with a doubler on the 250mm).

With an aperture of T2.1 across almost the entire range, they are considered very bright lenses and, on the other hand, they have a very small minimum focal distance throughout the range.

“he Arri Ensō optics, with an LPL mount, are compatible with a wide range of professional cameras such as the Arri Alexa 265, Arri Alexa 35, or the Sony Venice 2, among others.

The weight of the lenses varies according to the focal length, but generally ranges between 1.3 kg and 2.3 kg, making them relatively light and manageable.

Most of the Ensō lenses have a front diameter of 95 mm, which facilitates quick and seamless swapping on set. Additionally, they feature an LDS-2 or Cooke/i lens data system and an electronic magnetic rear filter interface.
