Super 35 sensor and 17 stops of dynamic range
The ALEXA 35 Live features an ARRI ALEV 4 Super 35-format CMOS sensor. Its 17 stops of dynamic range help preserve detail in highlights and shadows, even in scenes with significant lighting contrasts.
This latitude is especially useful for concerts with stage lighting, outdoor sports broadcasts, and studios with high-contrast areas. The camera offers output options for SDR and HDR productions, including Rec. 709, Rec. 2020, Rec. 2100 PQ, and Rec. 2100 HLG standards.
4K fiber video transmission with LPS-1
The LPS-1 Live Production System consists of the Fiber Camera Adapter and the Fiber Base Station. Using a hybrid fiber-optic cable, it can transmit uncompressed 4K video and supply power to the camera over distances of up to 2 km.
It also supports tactical fiber connections up to 10 km, with local camera power. Additional fiber and Ethernet tunnels allow transmission of auxiliary video, audio, or control signals depending on the production setup.
Remote image control for multicamera production
The ALEXA 35 Live incorporates broadcast-standard shading controls. From a compatible RCP panel, operators can adjust exposure, color, and highlight response parameters to match imagery across multiple cameras.
The system allows for corrections to specific tones without altering the rest of the colors in the scene. It also makes it possible to save presets and switch looks across camera groups on the fly during broadcast, ensuring visual consistency throughout the production.
Cinematic looks for concerts, television, and events
The ARRI Look Library offers 87 cinematic looks across three intensity levels. Availability depends on the licenses activated on the camera, so it is best to specify this feature when planning your rental configuration.
The system also features Multicam looks designed for common live production scenarios, such as studio broadcasts, concerts, and ski competitions. These presets provide a solid starting point for tailoring the look to the visual style of each event.
