T-Transient
The T-Transient version of the Tribe7 Blackwing7 lenses is distinguished by its more controlled images in terms of distortion, providing a more balanced image compared to the S-Straight (sharper) and X-Expressive (more diffused) versions.
The T-Transient lenses add a certain vintage touch to the image thanks to the flares and bokeh. Its image is sharp in the centre and gradually softens towards the edges, creating a certain halo.
Origin
The Tribe7 Blackwing7 T-Transient lenses were created by lens designer Neil Fanthom and cinematographer Bradford Young, inspired by the look of the 1930s-1960s.
The Tribe7 Blackwing7 lenses offer three tuning options that alter their optical characteristics such as sharpness, contrast, halos, flare, and aberrations:
- T-Transient (T): Balanced, artistic, and versatile character, with a soft vintage look. It is the most popular tuning and the ‘heart’ of the Blackwing7 range.
- S-Straight (S): More technical and clean character, designed for maximum sharpness and optical fidelity, with a modern and precise look.
- Expressive (X): Extremely artistic and exaggerated character, with a focus on pronounced optical effects and a very pronounced vintage look.
