6K Full Frame cinema camera

The Canon EOS C80 features a 36×19mm Full Frame sensor that delivers high-quality images, wide latitude, and vibrant color range.
It offers 6K image quality with a maximum resolution of 6202×4300

Lenses for the C80

The native mount of the C80 is of the RF type, but it comes with an adapter for PL and EF.

Its sensor allows working in both Full Frame and Super 35mm formats, with spherical and anamorphic lenses, and it even has a real-time de-anamorphosis function, which makes viewing easier during recording.

Being such a compact camera, it lends itself to use with lenses like the Cooke SP3 or Cooke AP3, as they are very small and lightweight Full Frame lenses. Other suitable lenses for the C80 the Canon CN-E, or zooms like the Zeiss CZ.2

Additionally, it incorporates contacts compatible with Cooke/i Technology for the transfer of metadata such as focal length, aperture, and focus distance, which will facilitate the workflow for post-production and VFX integration.

AutoFocus System

The Canon EOS C80 features an autofocus system that uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology, a fast and precise system that allows tracking of eyes, head, body, and animals.

Compact and ergonomic design

The Canon EOS C80 stands out for its versatile, compact, and ergonomic design, ideal for film shoots and TV productions.
The camera is lightweight, easy to handle, and small, making it perfect for handheld shooting or mounting on accessories like stabilizers such as the DJI Ronin S, DJI Ronin RS3, DJI Ronin RS4 Pro, drones, or for use in confined spaces.
This compact design does not compromise image quality, thanks to its 6K BSI Full Frame sensor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology.

Recording formats

The Canon EOS C80 offers a variety of recording formats that cater to different production needs:

  • Cinema RAW Light: It records internally at 12 bits, providing maximum flexibility in post-production.
  • XF-AVC: This format allows recording in 10-bit 4:2:2, ideal for productions that require high image quality and detailed metadata.
  • XF-AVC S y XF-HEVC S: These formats are more efficient versions of XF-AVC, allowing recordings in MP4 with an easy-to-manage folder structure.
  • MP4: Compatible with 4K and Full HD recordings, offering a versatile and widely accepted option for different platforms.

Additionally, the camera supports high-speed recordings such as 120fps in 4K and 180fps in 2K.

Triple base ISO

The C80 features a triple base ISO system (800 / 3200 / 12800) that maximizes the camera’s dynamic range, providing high-quality images in both low light and bright lighting conditions.
The triple base ISO is especially useful for situations with rapid changes in lighting.
